FAQ

The ceremonies that open and close the dieta are important aspects of the shamanic methodology. You must be present at both ceremonies for the dieta to be complete. You can choose between a Friday evening or Saturday morning time to join us.

Most times, a plant will step forward to let you know that it has the medicine that is perfect for you. That plant will sparkle for you. You might feel tingling when you read the description. Or feel excitement when you read about what its healing gifts are. If you don’t get a sense of just one plant, then it is most likely that there are multiple plants that will be equally good to work with. In that case, you can’t make a wrong choice. Pick one now and diet the other next time.

No. In our tradition, you only diet one plant at a time. This is so that any messages you get are clear. If you connect with multiple consciousnesses, personalities, and medicines, it can get overwhelming and diluted.

That’s great! You don’t have to have a meditation practice to receive healing and insights from the plants. The shamanic container created for a dieta is strong and makes it easy to connect with the wisdom of nature. It is also not required to have a quiet mind while connecting with the plant. Your healing will happen either way.

In Peru and South America, these plants are referred to as medicine. Here in the U.S., we technically call these plants herbal remedies. All of the plants chosen for the dietas are extremely safe and have no side effects or concerns with pharmaceutical medication interactions. People with serious illnesses should not depend on Amazon plants to be the sole source of treatment. They can, however, provide invaluable support during western medical treatment. The greatest value is in connecting to the ancient wisdom of the plant spirit.

Remedies are made with dried, ground bark and/or leaves of trees boiled in water. The taste is natural, herbal, earthy, not unpleasant, but sometimes pungent. People in the tribes of South America have taken these for hundreds of thousands of years.

In the Shamanic tradition, as well as many other spiritual traditions, these are the 3  substances that affect a human being’s energy field strongly.

  • Alcohol diffuses energy. Depending on how much we drink, it can make the energy field look like swiss cheese; not helpful on dieta.
  • Sex can either expand a field quickly and dramatically, overriding all other energetic input, like the plant being dieted. Or it can deplete an energy field if we don’t understand how to circulate the kundalini created by orgasm. This also collapses the energetic connection of a dieta.
  • Pigs hold consciousness and intelligence that is quite high and evolved. When we consume the meat of a pig, it takes our bodies 3 days to overcome the consciousness of the pig. It’s sort of like when someone gets an organ transplant and starts craving things they never liked. The consciousness of the doner’s organ is integrating into the body. Same here.

The Jungle Dieta requires that you eliminate alcohol/recreational drugs, sex, and pork from your diet for the four weeks of the dieta. Anything else you choose to eliminate is beneficial for your health and your spiritual connection with the plant, but it is optional. If you feel you cannot abstain from alcohol/recreational drugs, sex, and pork, then it is best you do not engage in the dieta at all. When you commit to building a relationship with the plant spirit, it is expected that you honor your part of the agreement by limiting your intake of the things listed above so you can connect with and integrate the wisdom the plant has to offer you.

Unlike the Jungle Series Dietas, The Divine Flowers and North American Trees do not require us to alter our food, drink, or behavior for a successful dieta. Instead, we offer guidance and support for those interested in an optional cleansing to shift out of unhealthy habits and create a vibrant energetic environment in your body and mind.

It can be equally and possibly stronger than a Jungle Dieta. The Sacred Flowers have been working intimately with humanity since our creation. Their frequency and consciousness have been well integrated with the human spirit and body. The flowers have been spiritual teachers for humans across many cultures and traditions and have played important roles in sacred ceremonies involving sex and alcohol in the mystery schools of antiquity.

In general, yes. It is safe to take most medications and supplements, including CBD with all the plants offered here. However, sometimes the energetic frequency of a supplement is incompatible, and the plant may indicate to take a break for a short time.

Opening a dieta with a Master Teacher Plant from the Jungle, a Flower, or a North American Tree invites it into every aspect of your life. When we are dieting at home, engaging with work, family, and daily responsibilities, it can be a tremendously powerful and healing experience. This is because the plant sees how you behave, interact, feel about, and get triggered by all the things in your life. Then it can be healed. We do encourage you to become aware of things that don’t serve you and limit your interaction with them while on dieta.
